I grew up around horses and loving the country life. I've been riding since I was a little girl and have always had a need for speed. When I was twelve years old I met a man, Bill, who wanted me to take his horse for the summer. A couple months later he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A few days before he passed away I went to go visit him and he told me that he wanted me to have Sonny.
A couple years later I found out about the Cowgirl Chicks and was amazed at what they did. They not only had the speed and enthusiasm... but they rode for cancer awareness. I followed the Cowgirl Chicks by way of e-mail for 2 years before riding with them because I lived across the country. When I started riding with the Chicks I noticed how close they were to each other. The team is more like a family. I don't think there is a better way to thank Bill than to ride for him with the Cowgirl Chicks.
